The deal, in plain English.
Your writing is yours
Everything you write in Verbaire, and everything Verbaire drafts for you inside your project, belongs to you. Publish it, sell it, print it on a mug. We claim no rights to your work beyond the minimum license needed to store it, display it back to you, and run the features you ask for.
What Verbaire is
A writing tool with AI in it, not an oracle. Drafts, critiques, and continuity checks are suggestions produced by statistical models. They can be wrong, and the judgment calls stay yours. Nothing enters your manuscript unless you put it there.
Fair use of the service
Do not use Verbaire to break the law, to generate content that exploits real people, or to attack the service itself (scraping, overwhelming the API, probing other writers’ data). We can suspend accounts that do; we will say why.
Your account
Keep your sign-in to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under it. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, and deletion is immediate and total.
Billing
Paid plans bill monthly or annually, whichever you choose, and renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time from Settings; the cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for, and everything keeps working until then. If a full plan is more than you need right now, Shelf is a lighter, cheaper plan you can step down to instead of leaving.
The 14-day trial needs no card, and nothing is ever charged unless you choose a plan.
Every plan includes an amount of AI writing, stated in words per billing period. Words you do not use roll over into the next period, up to one period’s worth.
Prices can change, but never mid-period, and never without at least 30 days notice.
Purchases are processed by Stripe. Under Stripe Managed Payments, Stripe is the merchant of record and seller of record for your purchase, so your receipt and your card statement come from Stripe. Taxes (VAT, GST, or sales tax) are calculated at checkout and shown for your location.
Refunds
Within 14 days of your first charge, write to support@verbaire.com and we refund it in full. After that we do not offer pro-rata refunds, but canceling never cuts you off early: your access always runs to the end of the period you paid for.
If you joined during the alpha
Accounts created during the alpha keep free access until paid plans launch, and then get 20% off any plan for 12 months. Being early counts.
The honest disclaimers
Verbaire is provided as-is. We work hard to never lose a word you have written, and you should still keep exports of work you cannot afford to lose, the way you would with any tool. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you have paid us for the service.
Credits
The names of real places Verbaire checks a draft against come from GeoNames, used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license.

If these terms change in a way that matters, we tell you inside the product before the change applies, and the date above moves.
